We are all God's type!

Starting a New Generation group at your school is not about filling your to do-list with even more tasks. Nor is it about finding activities to fill your calendar. Starting a New Generation group is taking your faith in Jesus and wanting to do something with it. To make your faith not just your own, but a life that leads others to Jesus. He who set the standard for everyone’s equal worth, what true selflessness is and who showed that love conquers all!

We all probably live with more or less preconceived notions about things and people. And when it comes to sharing your faith, or talking about faith in your everyday life, many of us may think of a “certain type” of person. Someone who never doubts, who knows every answer to every question, who is brave or just generally positive and always excited, comes to mind. The thing is though, that it comes to my mind, not the mind of God. God has never presented a mold that we have to squeeze ourselves into for us to be the right type. We are all God’s type!

“Having a New Generation group is taking your faith in Jesus and wanting to do something with it.”

It doesn’t matter how many bad things about yourself you can think of, God will always want you. I even think God is tired of hearing us explain to Him why we aren’t qualified when it’s really only about letting God use what we already are. And that means your personality, what you are good at, your strengths, your situation, your story. Your shy personality, the fact that you are good at math, your perseverance, your broken background, your story.

We need all types of christians who want to tell others about Jesus, because there are all types of non-christians who need to hear about Jesus. Starting a New Generation group is a step toward speaking about Jesus in a broader way. A way for you and your christian school friends to reach your school with Jesus, in the way that He is supposed to be presented there. So be strong on your NG-group, and put your words on all that Jesus stands for.
