In God's Time

Sometimes it’s easy to look at the NG group you are in and just see everything that’s difficult. That it’s no idea to have a group when we are still so few who join it. Or that there are so many Christians at school, but that they do not choose to join the school group. It’s easy to get caught up in the thought that you must be many people to have an NG group.

Isaiah 60:22 (NIV)

“The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly”

God says He will let His people grow in size and grow in power when the time is right. When His time is right. Your NG group will not begin to grow just because you think it is time, but it will start to grow when God's time is right. His time may be tomorrow or it will be in ten years. In ten years, the school group at this school may be super-crowded, but it must have started sometime. And that may start with you. Something that can be great and powerful in God's hand must begin with someone taking the initiative, as you have done. It must start with someone doing something. That you decide to pray. Or hand out lollipops to everyone. Or organize an eating contest. Or whatever. When you choose to stretch out for what God has, you will gradually grow. Both in your relationship with God and in size of group. But it must happen in God's time.
